Darlene Christopherson

Darlene C. Christopherson began quilting in 1979 in the Washington, DC area during the resurgence of quilt making. Darlene began teaching regionally in the Virginia area and worked on the staff of the Jinny Beyer Hilton Head Seminars for 5 years before leaving the area. While living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, her  home town, she began to teach nationally and design patterns. C&T Publishing, Inc. published Darlene’s book,  “A Perfect Union of Patchwork & Applique”.

Hand quilting, hand piecing and hand needle turn applique as well as fabric selection classes are Darlene’s favorite topics in her classes shared nation wide at large shows and for quilt groups. Patricia Campbell and Darlene hosted “An Applique Retreat” in San Antonio, TX for 5 years. For over ten years Darlene worked freelance marketing batting. In 2009, Pellon hired her as the Director of Marketing for the new quilting division, Legacy.
